Aiding Georgia’s Children

Young girl with hearing aid

SB 206 The “Hearing Aid Coverage for Children Act” was signed by Governor Nathan Deal on May 8th, 2017! It will cover…

 •  A maxium of $3,000 per hearing impaired ear every 48 months

 •  Includes reimbursement for hearing aids and non implated BAHAs, the cost of ear molds, repair parts, replacement parts & FM modulation systems

 •  Coverage will be effective January 1, 2018

•  Applies only to individual or group plans*, excluding companies with 10 or fewer employees

*SB 206 only applies to privately insured companies. Self-insured companies can not be mandated at the state level.  They are subject to the exclusive jurisdiciton of the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) of 1974.  However, if you work for a larger company, we urge you to write a letter (click here for a sample) and ask them to add the benefit.  In other states, where the bill has passed, these larger companies are readily updating their polices.  If you would like our help with this contact us at
