Dallas Hearing Foundation
ABOUT
The Dallas Hearing Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping children and adults with hearing loss access the technology and care they need. Their mission is to “bring sound to life” by providing financial assistance and support for hearing aids, cochlear implants, surgeries, audiological services, auditory-verbal therapy, and related medical and rehabilitation services to those who face financial barriers. The foundation works with a team of specialists — including surgeons, audiologists, and speech professionals — to tailor support to each individual’s needs, whether for basic hearing technology or comprehensive treatment.
Applications are open to individuals who cannot afford the full cost of hearing care, and having insurance does not automatically disqualify someone — Dallas Hearing Foundation reviews each applicant’s financial and medical information to determine eligibility and need. Once all required documentation is submitted, the board reviews applications and typically responds within about two weeks. The foundation’s vision is a world where both children and adults with hearing loss can participate fully in life, school, and work without their hearing condition limiting opportunity or connection.

Income Threshold
The Dallas Hearing Foundation does not publish a specific income threshold for eligibility. Applications are reviewed on a case-by-case basis, with consideration given to financial need, medical necessity, and available resources. Having insurance does not automatically disqualify an applicant, but families must demonstrate that the cost of hearing care presents a financial hardship.
