Georgia Hearing Aid Loaner Bank
ABOUT
The Georgia Hearing Aid Loaner Bank is a statewide program that helps ensure young children with hearing loss don’t miss critical opportunities for early language development. Designed for infants and toddlers through 36 months of age, the program provides temporary hearing aids at no cost to families while they wait for their child’s permanent devices. Early access to sound is essential for developing speech, language, and social skills, and this program helps bridge that gap during an important window of growth.
Families can receive one set of loaner hearing aids per child, with a use period of up to six months. The program also supplies up to two earmolds to help ensure a secure, comfortable fit. The process is initiated by a child’s audiologist, who works with a state Early Hearing Detection and Intervention (EHDI) District Coordinator to apply. Once approved, the hearing aids are shipped directly to the audiologist, who fits and programs them for the child. This collaboration between families and professionals ensures that children get the hearing support they need—right when it matters most.
