Medicaid (CMOs)
ABOUT
Children enrolled in Georgia Medicaid through Care Management Organizations (CMOs) such as Peach State, Amerigroup, or CareSource receive full coverage for hearing aids and related services under the Early and Periodic Screening, Diagnostic, and Treatment (EPSDT) benefit. This includes hearing aids, fittings, ear molds, programming, repairs, and follow-up care—all provided at no cost to families when deemed medically necessary.
CMOs help coordinate preventive care and referrals through the Georgia Families managed care program. When a hearing issue is identified during an EPSDT screening, children may be referred to in-network providers for diagnostic testing and hearing aid services. Some services may require prior authorization, so it’s important for families and clinicians to check with the specific CMO regarding coverage and approval steps.
