ABOUT

The UnitedHealthcare Children’s Foundation offers medical grants of up to $5,000 per year (with a lifetime max of $10,000) to help families pay for healthcare services—such as hearing aids—that are not fully covered by commercial insurance. Children must be 16 or younger, live in the U.S., and have primary commercial health insurance (not Medicaid or CHIP as primary). Families do not need to have UnitedHealthcare insurance to apply.

The application is available online and requires documentation such as a provider’s recommendation, a recent tax return, and an explanation of benefits showing the uncovered cost. Grants can be used to pay or reimburse for eligible services, including those incurred up to 90 days before the application is completed. Applications are reviewed monthly on a rolling basis, and funding is paid directly to the provider or reimbursed to families.
